San Gregorio Armeno - Hotel Paradiso
Via San Gregorio Armeno is one of the most famous streets of Naples, a must for any tourist in Naples. It is the street of the artisans of the crib. The crib tradition of St. Gregory of Armenia has a remote source: in the street in the classical era there was a temple dedicated to Ceres, at which citizens are offered as a votive small terracotta figurines, manufactured in the shops nearby.
The birth of the Neapolitan crib is obviously much later and dates from the late eighteenth century.
Today Via San Gregorio Armeno is known throughout the world as the exhibition center of craft shops located here that all year offering figurines for nativity scenes, both traditional and original (usually annually artisans realize the most eccentric figures with features of characters topical who may have excelled in positive or negative during the year).
The street and shops can be visited throughout the year and the visitor is so taken back at any time to the magical Christmas atmosphere.
